Our Story
I’m AJ, and this is my amazing wife, Mary. She’s my light, my life and my anchor.
We’re a fun loving, nerdy and happily married team. From taking care of our dogs & cats, to gaming together, or even going out for fun and pushing back on my anxiety for practice, we do it all together.
I was diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder back when I was very young. I’ve been in and out of therapy for a big part of my life.
I’ve learned from experience that there’s a big problem with the way anxiety, and mental health have been talked about in our society, and it’s been that way for a long time.
This brought me to the realization that people need help. Desperately. That’s when it clicked for me. It’s the reason I’m here today.
I wanted to help, but I didn’t know how. So after some head scratching and brainstorming with my brilliant wife, we came up with an idea. A blog that would be an invaluable resource for anxiety and mental health, with caring support and a focus on community. I can’t say it enough.
You are not alone here.
I’ve learned over many years that living with anxiety is incredibly difficult, and ironically, my best results have been in group settings or confiding in someone who understands and is willing to listen.
That’s exactly what we want to do here at The Anxious Ally, and I hope that my passion and heart are on full display while we get off the ground and head into the future with all of you. Our Allies.
